Two Old Gits in a Boat
UK Circumnavigation 2005

For me, the web site name was all I needed to become curious. Anyone who can launch a site named www.2oldgitsinaboat.co.uk to publicise their sailing adventures has to have a good sense of humour. I was not disappointed.

Since finding out about their UK circumnavigation I have been an avid reader of Les and Clive's progress reports. Their voyage began from Fosdyke on June 19th 2005 and ended 92 days and 1561 miles later when they Sailed Quintet back into Fosdyke to complete their round trip on the 18th September.

Les has been writing the updates and posting them to their webmaster while Clive has been getting on with the business of actually sailing Quintet. Les' reports are very witty and full of interest for sailors and landlubbers alike. Although occasionally sounding like a 'good pub guide' (the boys enjoy a drink or three!), his 62 reports range from 250 words to lets us know that they are still alive to over 2000 words telling us how good it is to be alive! Every one of these reports is a good read and accompanied by some very good photographs.
